Support Services Navigation and
PrEP Education and Adherence Support:
Navigators work closely with clients over a period of three months to a year helping them achieve their healthcare goals through the following specific services:
- Education on Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs)
- Linkage to HIV Testing
- Linkage to Hepatitus C Virus (HCV) Screening
- Linkage to STD Screening
- Linkage to Primary Care
- Information on PrEP ( Pre-exposure Prophylaxis medication to prevent getting HIV from sex or injection drug use )
- Screening for PrEP
- Linkage to PrEP
- Prevention Counseling
- Supportive Counseling
- Treatment Education and Adherence Counseling (PrEP)
- Treatment Education and Adherence Counseling (STDs)
- Treatment Education and Adherence Couseling (HIV)
- Linkage to Overdose Prevention Training
- Linkage to Substance Abuse & Mental Health Services
- Linkage to Legal Support
- Assistance with Access to Benefits/Entitlements
- Assistance with Housing Services
- Assistance with Employment/ Education
- Translation/Interpretation
- Escort to appointments
- Transportation Coordination
There are no income limits to receive services through the RPSSI Nassau Program. Immigration status is not asked (see About Us section for specific eligibility criteria). All services under the Program are provided with no cost to the client. Our goal is to help clients regain their health and stay healthy by addressing any obstacles that interfere with their ability to seek proper medical care or follow their clinician’s advice.
