This Was fun and Intersesting.
Hempstead, Roosevelt, Freeport, Westbury, and Elmont. The purpose of this celebration was to inform the community about the different programs and services they could have access to and how they could benefit from them.
The PrEP Coordinator and the HIV Navigators were invited to present the RPSGI Program through tabling with educational material and giveaways. Hispanic Counseling Center was invited to share at the event as well. Music and free ice cream were helping to celebrate this week. Attached please find some pictures of this event.
Health Is Wealth
The National Health Week event was a fantastic event which was highlighted by multiple vendors and like-minded community organizers. I myself had the opportunity to represent the RPSSI consortium and Circulo de la Hispanidad during this event. I took the chance to use the roulette wheel to challenge and quiz people about safe sex practices, PreP/PEP, and HIV/STDS. The Roulette wheel was used as an incentive to allow for further engagement from the community and for educational purposes.
Despite the heat wave during this event there was still a large presence from all backgrounds and ages. The event was fun and had a good ambiance as there was a DJ and face painter on hand to bring in curious people from the community.
